M.N.Krishna Rao Park Is the first women’s park in the country back in the 1940s. The park covered an area of about 22 acres. One Fine day Diwan Of Mysore, Sir MN Krishna Rao, decided to cross this park and take a short cut to his Daughter's house. The Responsible Watchman Stopped him. And Asking Do you not see the board, sir? This Park is only for women and children. The preoccupied Diwan quietly retreated And walked around the park to his daughter’s house. The Diwan Contributed Rs. 20,000 of his personal funds. An octagonal domed structure memorial building was designed by the Berlin Born Otto H. Koenigsberger, Chief Architect and Planner to Mysore State.
